About

Hey I’m Jana! Before we get in touch I would like to share with you something about me…

It all started in 2008, I was a high school student who went for one year abroad. In the beginning it was all a bit scary, I didn’t speak the language properly and left my family and friends behind. It turned out to be one of the best experiences in my life which gave me lifetime friendships and a great relationship with my host family.

It was a life changing decision…

After coming back to my home country I’ve started noticing a lot of positive changes in my behavior. I knew I’m starting the life I always wanted.

And again…

For my MBA studies I took off to Dubai which was a real cultural development for me. I have met people from all around the world and it was absolutely amazing. The downside was that we all “come and go” and at the end of the day you never know if you will see some of your friends ever again.

Change of everything, the pandemic…

Even though I wanted to stay in the Middle East much longer, something unexpected happened and the world pandemic changed my direction.

“The comfort zone is a psychological state in which one feels familiar, safe, at ease, and secure. You never change your life until you step out of your comfort zone; change begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

― Roy T. Bennet

Now I’m based in Switzerland, which is one of my biggest challenges living abroad. It took me a very long time to adapt and find a job. I barely speak the language and people are very different from what I’m used to. I’ve never faced such a big step out of my comfort zone in all possible ways. But it makes me grow everyday and I’m thankful for it.

Expatriate life brings both; life full of exciting challenges and surprises and at the same time it can be frustrating and very lonely. All of these reasons brought me to the thought of supporting people on the expatriate journey.

Is it worth it? YES! Everyday…
